AI Clinical Decision Support — Use & Limitation Disclosure

Republic of South Africa — Effective Date: 26 April 2026

Important Notice

This document governs your use of artificial intelligence (AI) functionality available within the Medora platform. Please read carefully before using any AI-supported feature. By accessing or using AI functionality, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out below.

1.Nature and Purpose of AI Functionality

Medora's AI tools are designed to generate automated informational output based solely on the data provided by the user and available system inputs.

AI functionality may include symptom analysis, triage support, draft documentation generation, preliminary informational summaries, and suggested areas for clinical discussion.

AI tools are intended solely as clinical decision support aids and informational assistance tools. They are not substitutes for professional medical evaluation.

2.No Diagnosis, No Medical Advice, No Treatment

You expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • •The AI tool does not provide a medical diagnosis.
  • •The AI tool does not provide medical advice.
  • •The AI tool does not prescribe treatment.
  • •The AI tool does not determine clinical outcomes.
  • •The AI tool does not establish a treatment plan.

All clinical decisions must be made by a registered healthcare practitioner exercising independent professional judgment.

3.Human Clinical Oversight Required

AI-generated output must be independently reviewed by a licensed healthcare practitioner, verified for clinical appropriateness, and accepted or rejected at the practitioner's discretion.

Human clinical judgment overrides all AI-generated output. AI output does not bind, control, or replace practitioner decision-making.

4.Limitations of AI Output

You acknowledge that AI-generated content:

  • •Is based exclusively on the information you provide
  • •May be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or misleading
  • •May fail to detect serious or urgent conditions
  • •May misinterpret symptoms
  • •May generate probabilistic outputs

AI confidence indicators, probability percentages, or similar descriptors do not imply medical certainty, do not reflect definitive diagnosis, and do not constitute clinical confirmation. AI output is inherently probabilistic and informational in nature.

5.Not for Emergency or Urgent Conditions

Important Notice

AI functionality is not designed or intended for use in emergency, urgent, or life-threatening situations. If you are experiencing severe symptoms, rapid deterioration, symptoms involving a child or vulnerable individual, or potentially life-threatening conditions — you must immediately call 10177 or attend your nearest emergency department. AI tools may not recognize or prioritize emergencies.

6.No Doctor–Patient Relationship Through AI

Use of AI functionality does not create a doctor-patient relationship, a therapeutic relationship, or a fiduciary relationship.

A doctor-patient relationship, if any, arises only through direct interaction with a registered healthcare practitioner.

7.User Responsibility and Assumption of Risk

By using AI functionality, you expressly acknowledge and agree that you will not rely on AI output as a substitute for professional medical evaluation, you assume responsibility for how you interpret or act upon AI-generated information, and you understand that AI tools are informational support mechanisms only.

You voluntarily assume the risks associated with the use of AI-generated informational output.

8.Regulatory Positioning

AI functionality provided by Medora is not intended to function as an autonomous diagnostic system, is not designed to replace licensed clinical evaluation, and is deployed as a support tool within a broader clinical facilitation platform.

Final clinical responsibility rests exclusively with the licensed healthcare practitioner.

9.Modification or Withdrawal of AI Features

Medora reserves the right to modify, suspend, remove, or restrict AI functionality at any time without prior notice. Continued availability is not guaranteed.
